The North Las Vegas Library District was established in 1993 by an act of the state legislature. It has its own tax base and receives a portion of the property tax.
The Library Director, under direction of the City Manager and with guidance from the Board of Trustees, oversees the budget, management and operations of the District.
The Board of Trustees consists of seven members appointed by the City Council.

North Las Vegas Library
The North Las Vegas Library opened in October 2014. It is located on the first floor of the North Las Vegas City Hall Building at 2250 Las Vegas Blvd. N.
The North Las Vegas Library features a book collection of new and popular materials for adults, teens and children. Other materials include DVDs, magazines and newspapers. Faxing services are available. The computer lab features 24 workstations with black and white printing. Wi-Fi printing is also available. Weekly storytimes and special programs are available for a variety of ages. This location also features a large used bookstore.
The convenient location within City Hall allows for library staff to easily refer patrons to other departments within the building if additional assistance is requested.
Aliante Library
The Aliante Library opened in May 2006, and is located at 2400 W. Deer Springs Way, just east of Aliante Parkway. The library is a one story, 15,900 square-foot building, with an exterior building design that complements the surrounding community, and the landscaping blends into the adjacent Nature Discovery Park.
The Aliante Library collection offers a wide selection of materials for adults, teens and children, including books, audiobooks, DVDs, magazines, and newspapers. Faxing and scanning services are available. The library offers 14 public access computers with black and white printing, and 6 tablets for in-library use. Wi-Fi printing is also available.
The Aliante Library is home to an art gallery with regular exhibits and includes an EmployNV Career Hub. Other features include a storytime room with patio, multi-purpose meeting rooms for rent, a large book sale area and a Storywalk located in the adjacent Nature Discovery Park.
Alexander Library
The Alexander Library opened March 11, 2009, and is located at 1755 W. Alexander Rd. The 16,400 square-foot library includes meeting rooms for rent, an EmployNV Career Hub, a book sale, a storytime room with patio and has a separate Teen Zone. There is also an adjacent two-acre park that includes tot lots, shade structures, paved and lighted walking paths and demonstration gardens.
The Alexander Library collection includes a variety of materials for adults, teens and children. The collection includes books, audiobooks, DVDs, magazines and newspapers. The computer area features 18 public computers with black and white printing, and 6 tablets for in-library use. Wi-Fi printing is available, as well as faxing and scanning.
