City of North Las Vegas residents can receive a free library card online!
In addition to borrowing books, DVDs, CDs and magazines, your library card enables you to download digital materials, use electronic databases, take home a Wi-Fi hotspot, take online classes, use library computers, and much more!
Choose between an All Access Library Card that allows access to both physical and digital collections or an eCard for digital access only.
How To Apply For A Library Card In Person
To obtain a library card, you will need a valid government-issued picture ID that verifies your name, current physical address and signature.
- Nevada Driver's License or Nevada Identification Card
- Government issued ID cards (including Military Identification)
- Passport
If your current physical address is not listed on your photo ID, please bring one of the following documents:
- Recent utility bill (e.g. electric, cable, phone, water)
- Vehicle registration or proof of insurance
- Preprinted checks
Clark County residents who do not live in the City of North Las Vegas may apply for a library card in person at one of our branches.
Youth Library Card
Patrons under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present to obtain a youth library card. The parent or legal guardian must provide valid government-issued ID and sign the application in person to obtain a library card for a child.
By signing the application, the parent or legal guardian accepts financial responsibility for materials checked out by the minor and acknowledges that it is his or her responsibility to guide the selection of materials checked out.
Using Your Library Card
Upon successful completion of your application, you will receive your library card number and PIN by email. Your card will allow immediate access to all online services, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines, educational resources, databases and streaming services.
If you received an All Access Library Card, your card will also allow you to visit our library branches to check out books, audiobooks and DVDs, use library computers and place holds to pick up physical materials.
To get a physical card, stop by any North Las Vegas Library branch with your photo ID.
Borrower Responsibilities
- If you change your address, email address, etc., notify the library on your next visit.
- When checking out, your library card or a government-issued photo ID must be presented.
- When an item checked out on your account is lost, you will be charged the cost of the item, any accrued overdue fines, plus a processing fee.
- Your library card may be used at any City of North Las Vegas Library or any Las Vegas-Clark County Library.
- By signing your library card, you agree to the North Las Vegas Library District’s Library Policies.
Account Renewal
Library card privileges expire regularly. To renew your account, you must present your valid government-issued ID in person. If your address is not correct, you will need to provide proof of your current local address.
Lost/Stolen Library Card
Your first library card is free. Because the card owner is responsible for any item checked out on the card, be sure to notify the library immediately if your card is lost or stolen. There is a $1 charge to replace a lost/stolen card.
