Animal protection 2

The City of North Las Vegas Animal Protection Services Division is responsible for educating the public about responsible pet ownership and enforcing City animal ordinances. Officers perform a variety of services that help the health, welfare and safety of animals and the public – rescuing injured and sick animals, reducing stray populations, controlling potentially dangerous animals roaming at large, removing dead stray animals from public and private property, and transporting lost pets to The Animal Foundation where their owners can reclaim them.

North Las Vegas Animal Protection Services officers are on duty seven days a week.

Please keep in mind, Animal Protection Services does not:

  • Provide veterinary services

  • Shelter or board animals

  • Accept owner-owned animals

  • Handle indigenous wildlife complaints, unless the animal appears injured or sick

  • Address pigeon complaints. Contact a pest control company.

  • Handle bee complaints. If bees are on public property, contact the North Las Vegas Fire Department at (702) 633-1102. If bees are on private property, contact a pest control company.
