Judge Courtney J. Ketter was elected to serve as North Las Vegas Municipal Court Judge in Department 2 in June 2022. Prior to his election, Judge Ketter was Managing Attorney of Ketter Law Offices, practicing criminal, family, and juvenile dependency law. Judge Ketter grew up Inglewood, California, and subsequently, Hawthorne, California, after his family relocated from Paterson, New Jersey, when he was very young. He graduated from Hawthorne High School in 1998 and California State University, Northridge, in 2003 before relocating to the Las Vegas Valley in 2005. Judge Ketter graduated from William S. Boyd Law School at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2012.

Upon graduating, Judge Ketter clerked for the Honorable Frank P. Sullivan before joining the Las Vegas City Attorney’s Office, prosecuting misdemeanors occurring within the Las Vegas city limits. Judge Ketter went on to be an associate at Rosenblum Law Offices, starting that firm’s criminal division.

Judge Ketter has always been a strong advocate of community involvement. From 2013 through 2020, Judge Ketter was a volunteer Truancy Diversion Judge, serving the students at Legacy High School, Jim Bridger Middle School, and John C. Fremont Middle School. Judge Ketter has also been a volunteer baseball coach and volunteer basketball coach for youth in North Las Vegas.

Judge Ketter is dedicated to serving the people of North Las Vegas by creating an environment where fairness, accountability and justice for all are synonymous with Department 2.
