The City of North Las Vegas Building Safety Division performs plan reviews, issue permits and conduct inspections for conformity to the North Las Vegas Municipal Code and adopted construction codes. We strive to provide the highest customer service by creating innovative processes to accommodate the services needed by our community.

Permits, Certificates of Occupancy and Temporary Certificates of Occupancy are issued electronically.

Certificates of Occupancy

For Certificates of Occupancy, send a request to buildingsafetyinquiries@cityofnorthlasvegas.com.

For new single-family construction, your permit will become the Certificate of Occupancy upon receiving an approved final building inspection. You will need to print a copy of the permit for your records.

Inspections can be requested using the Citizen Self-Service (CSS) portal. Some scopes may be performed by video. Your inspector will confirm the method prior to the inspection.

Fire Prevention

To request Service Work Orders, Temporary Operational Permits, Annual Operational Permits, or Invoice Payment Records, email buildingandfiresafety@cityofnorthlasvegas.com.

To request an appointment for an over-the-counter fire review, email buildingandfiresafety@cityofnorthlasvegas.com.

The Fire Prevention team can also assist with knox box applications, hydrant inspections and fire access inspections.

Research Request

Please be as detailed as possible. If your request involves several addresses, please attach a listing of all of the addresses involved.

If you are requesting copies of plans, please be aware that you will be required to provide a letter of release from the engineer/architect of record with a wet stamp and signature. In accordance with Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 623.780, drawings and specifications remain the property of the design professional. Once we receive your request, our office will contact you.
