The Dolores Huerta Resource Center, coming soon in early 2025, will be the first facility of its kind in Nevada. Operated by the City of North Las Vegas and supported by service providers from across the Las Vegas Valley, The Dolores Huerta Resource Center will provide a welcoming and inclusive one-stop-shop for residents to access a wide variety of services and programs.
All resources and information will be offered in both English and Spanish. The center will focus on serving the Hispanic/Latino community, while working to build connections between the diverse populations represented in our great city and bringing critical services to the community.
Who is Dolores Huerta?
Co-founder of the United Farm Workers Association, Dolores Clara Fernandez Huerta is one of the most influential labor activists of the 20th century and a leader of the Chicano civil rights movement.
The North Las Vegas City Council had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Huerta to the groundbreaking ceremony of the center named in her honor. She helped us celebrate the historic moment and spoke about issues and opportunities facing Hispanic residents of Nevada.
Ms. Huerta is proud to have her legacy live on in the residents of North Las Vegas.
