The North Las Vegas Education Advisory Committee

The Education Advisory Committee (EAC) meetings are held every third month, on the first Monday of the month, at 5 p.m. Meetings are held in Council Chambers at the City of North Las Vegas, 2250 Las Vegas, Blvd. No., North Las Vegas, NV. 89030.

The purpose of the Education Advisory Committee is to serve in an advisory capacity to the North Las Vegas City Council and to assist in accomplishing the transformational educational goals of the City Council.  

Membership duties: 
The EAC meets with City staff, community members, stakeholders and presents at its meetings recommendations to enhance and accelerate learning opportunities and positive student outcomes, while also expanding access, transparency, and equity in education for all North Las Vegas children.

  • Request and receive input, information, data and reports from stakeholders and the  community regarding education and student outcomes in North Las Vegas;
  • Make recommendations to City Council regarding the education of North Las Vegas  students and/or the findings of the Committee; 
  • Listen to and discuss the best ways to assist the Clark County School District and the Board of Trustees with implementing the codified provisions of the Nevada Legislature.
  • Report the Committee’s activities and decisions to the community;

Composition:
• Two Parents of children enrolled in a City of North Las Vegas school.
• Two teachers working in schools located in the City of North Las Vegas.
• One student enrolled in a North Las Vegas school who demonstrates interest in civic engagement.
• Six North Las Vegas community stakeholders with education related knowledge, experience, and interests.
