The Risk Management Division of the City of North Las Vegas is responsible for identifying and managing risks, safeguarding City assets, protecting team member well-being, promoting safety and reducing the frequency, severity and associated cost of claims. We take the safety of the public and our City teammates seriously!
The Division provides comprehensive services related to the administration of the City’s Risk Management program, including:
- Commercial Insurance
- Coordinates self-insurance and excess insurance programs for the City
- Protects team members and assets by providing insurance consulting and risk recommendations to City departments
- General Liability and Subrogation Claims Administration
- Commitment in claims handling
- Protects City and taxpayer’s interests by collecting on infrastructure recovery from third parties responsible for injury or damage to City resources and property
- Workers’ Compensation Administration
- Ensures City team members are covered in cases of work-related injuries and assists with medical treatment and return-to-work programs
- Safety and Loss Control
- Ensures compliance with federal and state OSHA safety standards and training requirements
- Developments and implements safety programs and policies to reduce loss and control the cost of loss
- Promotes a safer and healthier working environment for all City team members
- Protects the public interest by ensuring appropriate insurance and safety oversights are in place
- Risk Transfer
- Ensures certificates of insurance, contractual insurance language and risk transfer requirements in vendor and service provider agreements
- Administers Certificate of Insurance requirements
