Mike Edwards is the City of North Las Vegas’ Assistant Traffic Manager. In his role, Mike manages a staff of 30 personnel who are responsible for construction and maintenance of Traffic Signals, maintenance and installation of Street Lights, Park Lighting, Fiber Optic Systems, Street Signs, and Pavement Markings.

Mike has spent the last 27 years in Traffic Engineering Field Operations as a Superintendent or Assistant Traffic Manager. Before joining the City of North Las Vegas in 2001, Mike was employed for four and one half years with the City of Las Vegas as their Assistant Traffic Manager. Prior to arriving in the Las Vegas valley, Mike was employed for fifteen years by the City of Jackson, Mississippi as their Traffic Operations Superintendent.

Mike is certified by the International Municipal Signal Association, (IMSA) as a/an Moderator/Administrator. He is also certified by IMSA in their highest level certification fields of Traffic Signals, Roadway Lighting, Signs, and Markings. While employed with the City of Jackson, Mike participated in their tuition reimbursement program and received his Electronic Engineering degree from Phillips College, Jackson, Mississippi in 1986.

Mike is not only employed by the City of North Las Vegas, he is a resident of the City and has a vested interest in his community of choice.
