Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed holidays, see list below).

Services Offered

The Record Division is open to request copies of reports or to obtain background checks Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed noon to 1:00 p.m.).  For additional information after business hours there is a red telephone provided in the front lobby of the building, which is located next to the Records Division front counter.

Fees for Services Offered* (personal checks not accepted)

Police Reports $5.00 per report
Police Reports on Microfilm $4.00 for first page, $1.00 each additional page
Photographs $10.00 if on disc, $2.00 per page for color photos
SCOPE ( (Background Check) $10.00
Employment Background Check $10.00 - The employer must present a signed release from the employee for whom the background check is being conducted
Requests for 911 Calls $10.00 each
Radio Tickets $5.00 each
Witness Statements $5.00 each
Miscellaneous Report Attachments $5.00 each

*May require a subpoena.

If the above requested information requires extensive research to locate or extensive copying, the following charges will apply:


  • A fee of $40.00 per hour for staff time necessary to research and retrieve the requested information. These charges are to cover the cost of retrieval only.  They do not cover any reproduction costs. 
  • A $40.00 non-refundable deposit is required.

Acceptable Forms of Identification

For each of the above services a valid photo identification must be presented. The following is a list of acceptable photo IDs:

  1. Any valid State Driver’s License or State ID issued by the Department of Motor Vehicle
  2. Military Identification
  3. Passport
  4. Resident Alien Card issued by INS

Examples of identification that are not acceptable: health card, work card, or employment ID card.

Additional Services

CONVICTED PERSON REGISTRATION: Convicted sex offenders and other convicted persons living or visiting within the limits of the City of North Las Vegas must register with this Police Department within 48 hours of arriving in our City. For information on registering after Hours of Operation, please call 633-1715.  Temporary registrations are issued 7 days a week.

  Non-Gaming Card $50.00 good for 5 years (Employer Referral required)
  Non-Gaming Renewals $50.00 good for 5 years (Employer Referral required)
  Child Care Card $86.75 good for 5 years (Employer Referral required)
  Duplicate Loss/Stolen Card $5.00 (Employee Referral required)
  Fingerprint Service Only $10.00 per card (electronic fingerprint submission is not available for nursing license, teachers, real estate. etc.)
  Gaming Fingerprint Services $29.00 (to apply for a gaming position)
  Medical Marijuana Card $50.00 good for 5 years
  Verification Processing $-0- (must be registered in our City)

All Work Card applications must have one valid photo identification and one additional ID available.

  • Saturday, the Friday preceding is observed as a legal holiday
